9F series 2-10-0  "Evening Star" in BR livery

In 1954 the 9F series  2-10-0 freight locomotive was put into service in Britain. It was one of the finest and also the final mainline steam engine series for Britain.  The last locomotive  named "Evening Star" was constructed in 1960 by the Great Western Railway Works at Swindon in Wiltshire.
