Treadmill for 2, 3 or 4 coupled locomotives. (temporarily sold out)
These treadmills will accommodate 2, 3 and 4 coupled gauge one locomotives. The base is US made from a solid piece of cherry wood (as shown) or mahogany, and coated with clear polyurethane to protect the beautiful appearance. The overall length measures 40 inches. The 4 roller segments and the track are made by Aster Hobby Co. of Japan. A treadmill is essential for test running your kit built locomotive for the first time on compressed air or steam . It also is a great tool for maintenance jobs such as checking valve timing, steam tightness of the boiler and fittings, proper functioning of the axle pump system , tuning of alcohol wick burners, adjusting of RC equipment etc. It can also serve as a display base for your locomotive.

 

Laser cut stainless steel fire grates for UP Big Boy , H8 Allegheny,          SNCF U1, AD Garratt and JNR C62/2( early version)

If you are frequently coal firing your Aster locomotive you can now get heavy duty fire grates, laser cut from 1/4 inch T304 stainless steel plate. These pieces are made by Aster Hobby USA LLC and replace the original (out of stock) Big Boy grates and nearly out of stock  SNCF U1, AD Garratt  & Aster H8 Allegheny fire grates. Why not preserve the original and use one of these "after market" fire grates.
