KPEV T3 (Prussian State Railways)

and Deutsche Reichsbahn BR 89 T

The entire production of the KPEV T3 and BR 89 T has sold out.

Thank you for your patronage.

In 1881 the Prussian State Railways KPEV ("Koeniglich Preussischer Eisenbahn Verband") ordered their

first T3 locomotives. The reliability and operating characteristics endeared to both its owners and operators.

A total of 1550 T3's were built until 1906. A total of 1345 going to the KPEV. The remainder were used

throughout Europe and overseas. After formation of the German Reichsbahn, many of the  remaining T3's

were repainted black with red undercarriage. However, time eventually caught up with the T3 when branch

line speeds were raised from 40-to 50km/h and her limited speed capability relegated her to yard duties

for the remainder of her career.
